Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Vision
The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake has launched a community visioning process to identify the Town's vision, values, and desired future for the next 15-20 years. It is anticipated the vision will contain strategic directions and goals related to areas such as environment, economy, sustainable growth, active transportation, recreation, parks, safety, and social well-being.
Advisory Committee
A Community Vision Advisory Committee was established in June 2012 to assist with the visioning process, and is comprised of councillors, business owner(s), member(s) of the agricultural community, a member of the Municipal Heritage Committee, two youth representatives, developer(s), and three residents within the Town.
Workshops
The Town has held a series of Community Vision workshops at the Community Centre, starting on July 9, 2012, with a presentation by the consultant, Dave Hardy of Hardy Stevenson & Associates, as well as group discussion sessions. A second public workshop took place on Wednesday, October 10, with the final open house taking place on Wednesday, October 24, for the public to review how their feedback was incorporated into the Vision Statement and Strategy.
