IMPORTANT NOTICE - MEETING DATE CHANGE The regularly scheduled Committee of the Whole Meeting of Monday, May 26, 2008 is being rescheduled to Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. This change is to allow Council to attend the District School Board of Niagara meeting on Monday, May 26, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. which is entirely dedicated to the future of our schools in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The links listed herein will provide easy access and current information on the very important issue affecting our schools.

Request for Public Input - On Monday, May 5, 2008, Committee of the Whole of Council passed the following resolution "As having no secondary school in Niagara-on-the-Lake is not an acceptable option, that Council endorse Option 2 in this report (Report CAO-08-009) for retaining a viable secondary school in the community and provide that decision to the District School Board of Niagara for further consideration."
Option 2, as referred to above, supports a new high school on the NDSS site and a new elementary school on the NDSS site for the students of Virgil and Colonel John Butler public schools. This resolution has been ratified by Council on Monday, May 12, 2008.
