Canine Control
The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake's Animal Care and Control By-law is the municipality’s mechanism for licensing and regulating the keeping of dogs in the Town. A resident may have a maximum of 3 dogs, all of which must be licensed. The by-law also regulates the use of leashes, running at large, and defecation on public and private property.
To issue a complaint or report a missing/found dog, please contact the Town's Canine Control Officer Ken Reid at 905-658-8712. Ken can be reached between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, seven days a week. Issues that need immediate attention outside of these hours can be directed to the Niagara Falls Humane Society at 905-356-4404.
