Niagara Region’s manufacturing sector accounts for the largest portion of the region’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).  There is a strong alliance through educational partnerships and stakeholder groups that bring together the public and private sector, along with incentives, that encourages investment to the region helping to set Niagara apart as one of North America’s most competitive centres for manufacturers to do business.

Across the region, 17,000 (2016 census) people are employed in the manufacturing sector. Niagara-on-the-Lake manufacturers employ 825 people with strengths in fabrication, electronics assembly, beverage processing, environmental applications, and specialty foods.
